Atonement

Day of Atonement | 7th Day Congregation Eddy

On the Day of Atonement, we fast (afflict ourselves) for 24 hours from evening to evening and do no work. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the seventh lunar month. “27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto God. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before your God.” Leviticus 23:27-28 We no longer need the blood sacrifice because our Messiah was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
